Fragments on the stretcher of Sigourney’s portrait reads, “Copley. Lent by Charles S. Knox, 2003 loan to Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Mass.” Lengthy provenance supplied upon request, including copy of Master’s thesis on Joseph Badger that refers to these paintings.
